Press Release
We can probably agree that wistfulness is an inseparable part of reflecting on the past. Either we reminisce about joy or we ponder why things didn’t go as planned. For me, these accumulations of wistfulness - both personal and social- have been piling up like mountains for some time now. I’ve decided to live with them and respect their presence.
The sculpture in front of you has also taken shape in the same path. Layer upon layer of wax has formed a mountain. Among these low and high points, candles that have been collected from the birthday cakes of mine and my dear ones over the years can be seen. These candles which have been blown with smiles remind me of a passing era that I must accept its departure.
