Press Release

O Gallery presents "Veiledness”  by Mina Ghaziani (b. 1962 Babolsar), featuring works created over the past two years.

"Veiledness" emerges from Ghaziani's exploration of close-up perspectives of nature, that characterized her previous collection. This new body of work continues the narrative of her artistic journey, with a shift in focus from light to darkness in shaping the forms. The experiences that Ghaziani has faced since then have brought darkness to the forefront. Shadows now dominate the compositions, subtly shifting the balance between light and dark.
Inspired by transparent paint in traditional Persian painting, light emerges not as a central subject, but as a quietly transformative element. It is revealed through the act of erasure—either by removing pigment from pencil or conté using an eraser or a piece of cloth—an essential tool in Ghaziani's creative process. The act of erasure uncovers a hidden possibility within the darkness, evoking a sense of concealment and discovery. Through this process, the viewer is invited to witness what lies beneath the surface, a quiet revelation that speaks to the themes of vulnerability, loss and renewal.
