Forgetfulness: The Floating Option
January 29 - February 9 2021
Serminaz Barseghian
O Gallery presents "Forgetfulness: The Floating Option", a collection of recent paintings by Serminaz Barseghian (b. 1987, Tehran).
The collection on display is the repainting of a single piece by the artist dating back to 2015, in 6 different frames: a "Reference Image/Map" (rectangular frame) and five round frames.
The "Reference Image/Map" narrates the scene of the story in one shot, whereas the round pieces are the different point of views of the characters in the scene.
The project aims to engage the audience in imagining their presence somewhere between their own body and the characters of the painting through showing the space’s dynamics, narration and the change of perspective.
