Press Release
O Gallery is pleased to present “The Wind Bloweth Where It Listeth”, Ashkan Sanei’s (b. 1984 Urmia) first solo exhibition with the gallery. On display is a collection of works on paper that the artist has been working on for the past three years. Taking into consideration the gallery’s space, the artist will have a site-specific installation as well. In continuation to his previous collection in which objects were fading away, the current collection presents works in which things have completely disappeared. His practice melds his interest in Robert Bresson’s approach as a minimalist; finding creativity in lessening rather than adding. For him, this constant reduction is emblematic of the concept of time; a time in which things slowly and gradually diminish.
