O Gallery presents “Not Everyone Will Be Taken into the Future”, the artist’s first solo show with the gallery by Mojtaba Amini (b.1979, Sabzevar).
“Not Everyone Will Be Taken into the Future” is a collection of twenty-six paintings on canvas and eight sculptures made of baked plaster, bitumen and iron structures.
Some of the paintings are abstract, simplified with few details, depicting natural landscapes and scenes of nature; not evolved nature, but a nature that appears to be newly formed or newly created. The artist puts this new nature in front of the viewer's eyes, distorted as if behind curtains or painted glass. To this minimal world created in these paintings, gazing portraits are added, whether looking directly at the viewer, looking at the horizon within the work or gazing out of the frame.
Completing the collection, next to the paintings, there are sculptures. Sculptures with a rough and solid structure, similar to the covering of an empty upper body, as if these objects had covered a person and now that person is no longer in that designated place, has moved and left the cover.
These remaining covers next to the portraits that either look at the horizon or gaze outside the frame or stare at the viewer or into the past or the future, depict a new event with new relationships. This event represents a change, a tangible change, a change that sweeps away the society and leaves many behind.
