“Approaching” When it’s about fondness, we print the pictures and look at them, in an attempt to abridge the distance and to get closer to something or someone, in hope of overcoming the amnesia. The ghost in the photo remains unreachable, something vague made out of reminiscence; something to remind us of the very absence. In the “Approaching” series, by printing the portraits of friends in small scales and re-capturing them through a microscope, the artist has eliminated the illusion of closeness by over approaching them. Approaching the friends, who for various wills, have left their homeland. “If we approach the photos well, we see nothing but loss”.
