Bio

Mohammadreza Mirzaei is a California based Iranian photographer, born in 1986 in Tehran. He received his masters degree from University of Pennsylvania in 2014 and is currently a PhD candidate in the History of Art and Architecture department at UC Santa Barbara. More than telling stories, his works raise questions. And more than anything else, his photographs are reflective of his sensibility towards his relation to the object, light exposure, form exposure, and so on. It is because of these matters that in many cases his works are on the border between abstract and realism and therefore are challenging for the audience. Mirzaei has participated in several group and solo exhibitions in Iran and abroad. Also, different books have been published of his work, including Here Comes The Sun (2014) by University of Pennsylvania Common Press.
