Alireza Chalipa

Alireza Chalipa (b. 1984 Shiraz) has a degree in printmaking and painting. Alireza Chalipa is very much concerned with the concept of time and its natural effect on different phenomena such as waiting, suspension, erosion, non-existence, slowness and absence. Through the subjects of his choosing and the color palette for each work, he tries to address an absolute, unified phenomenon in the material structure of life from a variety of angles – layer by layer, meticulously taking his time to create his unique textures atop large-scale canvases. He has held six solo shows and participated in numerous group exhibition in Iran and abroad. Also a curator and an illustrator, he has worked on several successful projects in the past 10 years.
