Laleh Memarardestani

Laleh Memarardestani (b. 1972 Tehran, Iran) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tehran. Her practice involves drawing, painting, printmaking and textile art. Her educational background includes a high school diploma and a BFA in Graphic Design (Islamic Azad University of Central Tehran Branch). 
She later gained artistic experience in England, specializing in life drawing, printmaking and illustration. The constant practice of drawing has become her personal means of expression. Her work occupies the area between abstraction and reality, where objective forms, on the path to metamorphosis, reach a state of purity. Reserved and simple, they disclose only the essence of their existence. This fluidity, contrasted with stillness and silence, demonstrates the artist's personal and simplistic expression—organic, lively and meaningful characteristics always present in her art. Memarardestani's works have been exhibited in Iran and internationally at art fairs and independent galleries, with a part of her oeuvre presented privately at the artist's studio.
