Mohammad Hassanzadeh and Arash Sedaghatkish at NADA Curated: As It Unfolds by Fitsum Shebeshe

The exhibition brings together a diverse group of 47 artists whose works “delve into the multifaceted processes of becoming—whether personal, collective, or imagined—manifesting through various narratives and forms”.
NADA Curated: “As It Unfolds”, an online exhibition organized by curator Fitsum Shebeshe, is now live on newartdealers.org and will continue through April 15, 2025.

As It Unfolds explores human transformation as a continuous and evolving process shaped by the interplay of time, memory, and experience. This exhibition brings together a diverse group of artists whose works delve into the multifaceted processes of becoming—whether personal, collective, or imagined—manifesting through various narratives and forms. Rather than presenting change as a fixed state or linear progression, it considers transformation an open-ended continuum, influenced by historical contexts, possibilities, and inherent uncertainties. Thus, transformation is perceived not as a final destination but as a dynamic interplay of emergence, dissolution, and renewal.

Through mediums such as painting, photography, sculpture, and digital media, the participating artists investigate the nuanced boundaries between permanence and impermanence. Some engage with archival materials and historical narratives, illustrating how the past resonates within the present and informs speculative futures. Others employ abstraction, utilizing texture, repetition, and fragmentation to convey the fluidity of time and the ephemeral nature of existence. Each piece offers a distinct perspective on transformation, highlighting deeply personal aspects while connecting to broader cultural and historical contexts.

As It Unfolds navigates the liminal space where past and future converge, presence and absence intertwine, and the familiar transitions into the unknown. Reflecting on transformation as a continuous, evolving process, the exhibition fosters an ongoing dialogue that extends into the broader spectrum of everyday life.

O Gallery at Paper Positions Berlin: Showcasing Iranian Artists Dedicated to the Medium of Paper
Since its inception in 2014, O Gallery has established itself as a leading contemporary art space in Tehran, with one of its main focuses being the promotion of young and emerging artists who work extensively with paper. This dedication has played a pivotal role in elevating paper-based artworks to a status comparable to other mediums, contributing to a broader appreciation and recognition of “paper” over the past decade.
In this edition of Paper Positions Berlin, O Gallery presents the works of three Tehran-based artists—Razieh Sedighian (b. 1986 Tehran, Iran), Maryam Mohry (b. 1979 Tehran, Iran) and Ashkan Sanei  (b. 1984 Urumieh, Iran)—whose practices are deeply rooted in the paper medium. Additionally, we feature Berlin-based Iranian artist Iman Rezaei (b. 1981 Shiraz, Iran), for the first time, whose work is not primarily focused on paper but embraces a wide range of materials, using whatever is available to him—paper being one of them.

Excerpt from text on Arash Sedaghatkish’s show by Hoofar Haghighi

… In Arash Sadaghatkish’s recent show at O Gallery, grotesque figures are combined together in a realistic texture, based on lived memory. This range of expression extends to realistic landscapes which have been stained with abstraction through the expressionist strokes of the artist. A kind of disorder has been arranged in a favorable way through the artist's arrangements.
